Oversized safety (dome head)

This is a right-handed safety which fits all the Remington models listed below which have a right-handed trigger housing. We also include a replacement safety coil spring and safety detent ball which enables owners with the 'ISS / J lock' locking safety to convert their trigger plates so no key is required (typically found on firearms made from 2002 to 2005). Our safety is compatible with all rifle calibers and all shotgun gauges:

Designed for use with gloves or for when the small factory safety is difficult to engage. Machined from hardened 17-4 grade stainless steel and available as-machined (silver color) or with a tough DLC coating applied (black color). This is a durable safety that will never wear out, is highly-resistant to corrosion and has been made from the best materials with the best finishes applied. The deep serrations provide a very grippy surface for all weather conditions. We include a red color o-ring to indicate when the safety is disengaged and the firearm is ready to fire. This o-ring will glow very mildly in the dark after it has absorbed U.V. light for those shooters that use their firearms in low light conditions. A small pin punch is required for installation .

Construction

• The safety is CNC machined from hardened 17-4 stainless steel and weighs 0.30 oz (8.4 g)
  
• The silver color version is supplied 'as-machined', the black color version has a DLC coating
  
• The coil spring is made from spring steel and has a black electroplated finish
• The 'ready-to-fire' position indicator is a photo luminescent silicone o-ring

Installation

We don't have instructions for products relating to triggers however the image gallery has renders showing how the components in this kit fit the trigger housing. If unsure on installation, we highly recommend having a qualified and competent gunsmith do the job. Always ensure the firearm is unloaded before commencing work and test that the safety functions exactly as it should upon reassembly whilst the firearm is unloaded. Be aware that the extra length and size that this safety provides will facilitate easier engagement allowing for it to move in the left direction (safety disengaged and ready to fire), care needs to be taken when handling the firearm to ensure that this does not occur unexpectedly. Moving the safety to the right (safety engaged) has no substantial change to that of the factory safety design.
