Proudly designed and manufactured in the USA - see our website www.BoltKnobs.com
This is a lightweight replacement BAS (Bolt Assembly Screw) for your 2019+ Savage made from grade 5 titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) with the 3 piece firing pin spring. We also produce a 4-piece bolt lift kit for the 2019+ Savage rifles linked here. If you have an older pre-2019 made Savage then we have a bolt lift kit (incorporating a titanium BAS) linked here. Available in three different color / finish options as detailed below, our BAS uses the the best materials and coatings available achieving a high hardness and corrosion resistance coupled with a reduction in weight. These are very competitively priced and offer a lifetime of hard use in all environments. When combined with our titanium bolt handles (left or right) and titanium bolt bodies, substantial savings in weight can be achieved - see the comparison pictured in the image gallery.
Construction
- BAS (Black color, satin) - Ti6Al4V titanium alloy, as-machined finish with a DLC coating (PVD)
- BAS (Silver color, satin) - Ti6Al4V titanium alloy, as-machined finish
- BAS (Grey color, matte) - Ti6Al4V titanium alloy, glass bead blasted finish
Specifications
- Weight = 0.36oz (10.2 grams)
- BAS hex socket = 1/4" hex key
Fitting Guide
Minimum tools required are a 1/4" hex key, if in doubt we recommend having a gunsmith fit the kit. Holding the bolt firmly with the BAS facing upwards in a padded vice is the easiest method. Be aware of the spring pressure before unscrewing the BAS. We recommend applying a small amount of bolt-lug grease or alternatively a grease of similar viscosity to the BAS threads prior to installation and decocking the bolt first then recocking following reassembly.
Notes
The bead blasted version of this BAS will appear darker in the packaging than the photos in the gallery. We wash this version in an ultrasonic leaner to remove glass powder residue from the blasting operation, then spray and wipe with G96 to remove any water marks which causes them to appear a darker shade when received in the ziploc bag. Removing the BAS from the packaging and putting it in direct sunlight or by a window for a few days will produce a lighter shade of grey again.
